Will enjoyed a March break trip away with the rest of the family to beautiful Columbus, Ohio. Daddy booked a hotel in an area called Easton. It made no difference to mommy though as she had never been to Columbus and couldn't give an opinion one way or another. Daddy also secured tickets to the Columbus Bluejackets game on the Saturday night.
Upon arrival in Easton mommy's heart started to palpitate. Daddy had booked us into a hotel located within a shopping Mecca!! Major stores surrounded the hotel in three directions as far as the eye could see!! Mommy could not believe that daddy would voluntarily bring her there! Plans were quickly coming together in mummy's head as she drove past so many familiar store fronts. She marveled at the whole arrangement of shops and relished at the proximity to the temporary living quarters. Woo Hoo-now this is what I call "spring break".

There was a little shopping and some nice dinners out. We all had fun at the Barnes and Noble where the kids picked out a book and mom and dad could have a coffee. We lost Mitchell in the Barnes and Noble actually. Yes, the last we had seen of him he was going into the washroom. After a while I sent Mark in to investigate and he was gone! Mom started having heart palpitations of the bad kind. We had his name announced over the P.A. System. Finally Mark found Mitchell in the music section, where he thought he would go without letting us know. The fun was over for Friday and we headed to the room. Will was also complaining. We think he had had too much to eat at the Cheesecake Factory, where he had copious samples from everyone's plate.
The next day was shopping day! New shoes for dad and the kids and, well, that's it really, but we had lots of fun looking. The kids got to have a pit stop at a huge arcade. Those places make mom nauseous and she had to close her eyes on occasion to at least stop the assault of flashing lights. She couldn't do much about the loud music and pinball/racecar noises. Outdoor air never smelled and felt so good. After lunch (which was at an old time diner) it was back to the hotel for a swim and get ready to go to the hockey game. I will at this point sum up the hockey game by saying it was great to watch the home team win, especially from the 7th row seats we were in. Losing Olivia before the game and having to involve the Columbus police department to locate her was not so great. Poor Olivia didn't see the other 5 of us stop along the way to look at a sports memorabilia silent auction. She kept walking along the concourse with the hundreds of other people. I don't know how long she went along without the fam. before realizing she was solo. She was too brave to say there was any discomfort other than she was a little scared. I reminded her that any of the dozens of police officers were there for that exact reason. Finally they located her and brought her back. Mom had to hold back the tears, while dad was more angry. (Aren't we a well balanced couple?) Olivia recovered well from the incident and could enjoy the game. The next morning we headed home and spent the closing hours of spring break just relaxing.
Now, here is a little treat for you. It was a treat for me this morning too when I found this in Will's cubby at school. It is from a school bulletin board. You've got to love creative teaching staff.
