Holiday time

Tomorrow we will start out on the 3 day, 1350 mile (2173 km) trek to the cottage for the summer. I don't have a computer at the cottage until Mark joins us with his laptop in tow later in July, so my already sparse posts will become even more so.

I always look forward to the road trip, where all six of us are plopped together in the Suburban (and the cat too...)and we get an intense 3 days of family togetherness. I pack two coolers (one with cold snacks and drinks and the other with dry stuff) and we avoid having to stop at restaurants until dinner time each night after we check into our hotel. We have some great old movies and TV shows for the video players, lots of puzzle books and magazines for the older kids and Will loves his magnetic Doodle Pro board as well as those great "Color Wonder" books that use the no mess crayons and markers. He will also have his action figures and some cars to play with. A big cookie sheet comes in handy as a play surface and the small raised edge on it stops some items from falling off.

I hope all the readers here have a great summer full of family fun and adventure and I look forward to catching up with everyone upon our return in August.
