The sound of the "All Clear"

Today was Will's cardiology check-up. For those who don't know, Will was born with a PDA and a hypertensive heart and lungs. Now, the hypertension can be caused by the PDA, but even after it closed there was a stubborn low level of hypertension that seemed hesitant to go the way of the PDA.

We have monitored the hypertension with EKG's and ECG's. It had been a half a year since the last check up and he came due at his second birthday.

Today Will did me proud by remaining asleep for the EKG that he would normally wriggle through and cause a poor reading. A combination of graham crackers, Barney and juice got us smoothly through the half hour long ECG.

After Dr. B. read through the results he came in to say "One word...NORMAL!" That was a relief for all of us as we have been living with that small, but nagging hypertension concern for two years now. So, unless we have any further concerns arise, we have been "set loose" from Dr. B. , who we will miss.
