Today was a dancing diaper wipes kind of day. The kind of day that small little things can somehow become much bigger and generally weigh down your day and bung up it's fairly smooth operation. I know there are others out there who have had to endure dancing diaper wipes. You'll recognize the scenario quickly:
You've got a kiddoe on the change table with a rather challenging diaper. You take a moment to decide what is your best diapering tactic. You peel back layers of clothing to assess the damage. You get to the heart of the matter and a steady supply of wipes are crucial. You lift the flap of your wipe dispenser and pull on the wipe. You realize it is about the second or third from last in the box and the whole dispenser is dangling from the other end of the wipe you are holding. Your other hand is so busy holding body parts hovering over the cesspool that lays open and exposed on the change table that it cannot be commissioned to help solve the wipe problem. Then you start the gentle, yet firm shake to dislodge the wipe. This creates a somewhat comical dangling dance of the entire dispenser. You shake and shake, each time a little more firmly. Finally the stubborn wipe releases itself and the box tumbles down onto the floor a few feet from where you are standing. You use that one precious wipe to clean away as much as possible and then extend your leg across the room to guide the box back to where you can reach it. The whole time your left arm is aching from holding at least half of the 22 pounds that is your child.
This type of scenario usually ends in a full change of clothes for baby and maybe even mom. It indeed, ends finally with an energetic hand wash and a trip to the snack cupboard, or coffee maker, where mom regains some of her superpower strength.
