Will seems to be tackling a lot of things lately. I imagine he is determined to keep up with all the shenanigans that go on around here. Saturday morning Mom and Dad were enjoying their coffee time in the relative quiet of the living room. Will played with his ball, pitching it then retrieving it. Soon enough the ball landed on the stairs and I watched as he climbed up a step to get it. He didn't return to the floor, but instead threw it up to the next step and again, climbed to retrieve it. O.K. it was cute and celebratory for about 2 minutes, then mom and dad's coffee time turned into serious gate discussions. I know, a gate, how much can there be to talk about? We have just recently found the attributes of the metal self-closing gates that grace the top of our two staircases. But the bottom of the decorative front hall stairs takes a little more considerstion. Safety (First, of course), stylishness, and practicality. We are doing research as we prop a wobbly gate between the rungs of the bannister. Gaining entry to the second level of the house is soon going to resemble the opening sequence on "Get Smart".
In the meantime, Will is getting practice in the art of balance. A big yoga ball helps him understand the intricacies of shifting weight side to side and back and forth. This is hopefully sharpening his pre walking skills.
