Christmas...er...holiday party

Today was Will's class Christmas party. Sorry for the non-PC talk, but that is really what it is, although I'm supposed to pretend not to know that. Anyway, Will was a little bewildered by the change of schedule, but went along sort of enthusiastically, although he couldn't figure out the deal with the pinata. His mom has been telling him for years now not to hit things and along comes a teacher approved, classroom sanctioned whackfest. Will was only tempted to hit the pinata with the most delicate pats, not wanting to ruin the lovely red car. Promises of candy did nothing to fortify the smacks. Will doesn't eat candy anyway, but he thoughtfully collected a bag of the spoils for the sibs. They are in for a nice treat when they get home. The teacher and another parent enthusiastically scooted more and more candy over to Will, so he could put them in his bag, which he did very efficiently. Afterward was snack-time and the three big iced cookies were right up Will's alley. All the other kids finished off the cookies in plenty of time for the goodbye circle. Will, on the other hand took tiny bites, and then would reassess the cookie's size and shape. Will only had time to eat one cookie, but we packed up the other ones for later, maybe he will share with his mom ;)
