This is real Groovalicious!

We celebrated Olivia's birthday over the weekend. We try to follow the every-other-year policy for parties. This was an "off" year for Olivia, so we had a souped up family dinner at a Chinese restaurant and then home for this rockin' cake. Yes, there is enough food colouring there to cause anaphalaxis. Enough to give you allergies, not just aggravate them. Want to see children start spontaneously somersaulting around the living room? Get this cake.

You will be interested to know that I am not the only one in the family who can spot other people with DS. While we dined Olivia exclaimed in her now signature announcement-whisper "That girl has Down syndrome!" Yes, it looked like two sisters out for dinner. I think Olivia (as well as myself) like to see ordinary situations that include people with DS in an ordinary way. I asked her if she would take Will out for dinner when she was older. "It wouldn't be the same as going out with a sister." Ah, yes your right Olivia. Will would want to talk about hockey and cars and maybe girls. Olivia can only imagine a dinner featuring discussions on fashion, music and Hanna Montana. So goes the life of a pre-teen.

Oh no, I am not capable of making something like that. Both in the baking and imagination department.
