Will's new groove.

As you know, Will has started attending his new school, but only for two mornings a week instead of the prescribed 4. After a week or two of teary drop-offs, Will is a new man. His teachers have noticed this as well. As soon as Will was acclimated to his class and schedule he has become a chatter box. He is more independent at home too. He now wants to participate in his meal preparation by getting his own dishes and utensils. I had to relocate them all to a lower drawer as the counter height drawers were a little beyond his eye level and he had started pulling up on the drawers to look in. I was worried about my drawers! He is more opinionated and is starting to let us know what his wants are more clearly. Currently we are working on getting him to use 2 word phrases. Yesterday, when I asked Will if it was time to get out of the tub he replied "no gey-yout mummy!"

We had Will's IEP meeting on Wednesday and were offered to add two afternoons to Will's schedule. We decided to give them a try and see how well Will can handle things without his sacred afternoon nap. Yesterday was his first afternoon and he seemed to do well, although he was a little hard to get going this morning. Will now has a full week and seems to be benefiting from a little busier schedule.
